The Korean 10-step routine: myth vs reality

5 min read

Nobody actually does 10 steps

The famous 'Korean 10-step routine' was invented by a Western magazine, not Koreans. Real routines are 3–6 steps, tailored to your skin and time. The '10 steps' was always marketing, not reality.

What Koreans actually do

A typical Korean routine is: cleanse (double-cleanse at night), tone, essence or serum, moisturize, and SPF in the morning. Five steps. Some add sheet masks or ampoules a few times a week, not daily.

Less is more, done well

Consistency beats complexity. A simple 4-step routine you do every day beats a 10-step routine you abandon after a week. Start minimal, add only when your skin asks for more.
